Lehi’s historic downtown has always been the heart of our community, a place where neighbors meet, businesses grow, and the city’s story continues to unfold. Now, Lehi City is taking the next step in that story with the release of the final draft of the Downtown Revitalization Plan, and residents are invited to review it and share their feedback at Downtown Lehi Plan.
A Vision Rooted in History and Ready for the Future
The updated plan lays out a vision for a vibrant, walkable, and economically strong Downtown Lehi. It focuses on enhancing Main Street as the city’s historic core, improving pedestrian safety and comfort, supporting local businesses, and creating public spaces that invite people to gather and connect.
“Downtown Lehi will be a place where the community naturally gathers, a true ‘Main Street’ experience that blends old and new,” said Kim Struthers, Lehi City’s Community Development Director. “We envision a downtown that retains its historic charm while welcoming new shops, restaurants, housing, and cultural spaces. It’s the heart of Lehi, authentic, walkable, and forward-looking.”
Guiding Principles
The plan is built on six key principles that reflect what residents have shared throughout the process:
- Celebrate Lehi’s History – Protect and reinvest in the historic buildings, landmarks, and small-town feel that make downtown special.
- Strengthen the Local Economy – Support small businesses and encourage a healthy mix of uses that create long-term economic vitality.
- Make Downtown Walkable and Connected – Improve sidewalks, crossings, and bike routes to make downtown safe and comfortable for everyone.
- Activate Public Spaces – Add trees, lighting, public art, and gathering spaces that bring downtown to life both day and night.
- Encourage Housing Choice – Support compatible residential options that bring more people to live, shop, and spend time downtown.
- Plan for the Future – Coordinate transportation, parking, and infrastructure improvements to help downtown evolve gracefully as Lehi grows.
What’s Next
After the public comment period ends, the Lehi Planning Commission will review the plan and make a formal recommendation to the City Council, which will consider final adoption in December. Once adopted, the City will begin implementing the plan in phases, starting with projects such as Main Street streetscape enhancements, safer pedestrian crossings, and zoning updates that will help guide responsible redevelopment.
How You Can Get Involved
Lehi City is seeking community input before final adoption. The public comment period is open through November 12, and residents are encouraged to review the plan and submit feedback at Downtown Lehi Plan.
Community members can also share their thoughts in person at two upcoming public meetings:
- Planning Commission Meeting: November 13, 7:00 PM
- City Council Meeting: December 16, 7:00 PM. Both meetings will take place at Lehi City Hall, 153 N. 100 E.
“Community feedback has been invaluable throughout this process,” Struthers said. “As we move toward implementation, hearing what people value most about downtown, from walkability and parking to public spaces and preservation, will help us focus our efforts and investments.”
