Youth Council

Our Purpose

The Lehi Youth Council is dedicated to providing leadership training and service opportunities for interested Lehi youth in grades 9-12. The Youth Council helps elected officials understand the needs of children and youth in the community and works with various city groups to provide service and leadership opportunities. Youth Council meetings will typically be held once a month and run concurrently with the Alpine School District yearly schedule.

The members of the Youth Council attend a legislative session at the Utah State Capitol each January where they have the opportunity to meet our legislators and hear guest speakers. The youth members will help choose the activities and opportunities that they will participate in throughout the year. Being involved with Youth Council is a great way to learn about local government, get involved with the community, make new friends, volunteer with Lehi City-sponsored events, and add to your resume or college application.

Requirements

A member of the Lehi Youth Council must:

  • Live in or attend school in Lehi City
  • Be in grades 9-12 for 2023-2024 with citizenship in good standing

Monthly activities are typically held the first Wednesday of every month at 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. The Lehi City-sponsored events are held throughout the year.
