WARNING: Mountain Lion Sighting

We have received reports of a mountain lion sighting near Woods Drive and then again at 800 W 900 N.

Please stay alert and keep an eye on your children while they walk to school. If possible, drive your children to school until the situation is resolved. Lehi PD is doing extra patrols of the area. If you see the mountain lion do not approach it or run from it. Call Lehi PD at 801-798-5600.

UPDATE: Child has been found and is safe. Thank you to everyone for assisting in finding him.

MISSING CHILD

The Lehi City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a lost 6-year-old child.

Please see the attached photo and information and share the information with friends and family.

Today at approximately 4:00 PM, a six-year-old named Grayson Hurst was supposed to be going to a friend’s house in the area of 3600 West 1400 North, but it was later discovered that he never arrived. He has been known to wander off significant distances.

Grayson is not familiar with the area. In the past Grayson has been known to find bikes or scooters laying around and use them as transport.

If you have seen Grayson or might have information on where he might be, please contact Utah Valley Dispatch at 801-794-3970.

🌧️ Only Rain Goes Down the Storm Drain! 🌍

Storm drains are designed to carry rainwater away, but when other materials like lawn clippings, chemicals, or pet waste enter, they cause non-point source pollution—a major threat to our water quality.

Non-point source pollution comes from many different sources, not just one like a factory. It happens when rainwater or snowmelt flows over roads, lawns, and fields, picking up pollutants like chemicals, oil, pet waste, and debris. This contaminated water then enters storm drains, often flowing directly into rivers and lakes without treatment.

Here’s how you can help:

Keep It Clean: Only rain should go down the storm drain—no lawn clippings, debris, or chemicals.

Wash Smart: Wash your car on the lawn or gravel to prevent runoff, or visit a car wash that treats wastewater. If you wash at home, choose non-toxic, biodegradable soap that’s phosphate-free.

Lawn Care: Avoid applying lawn chemicals before a storm, and keep them off driveways, sidewalks, and streets. Properly dispose of lawn clippings to prevent them from entering the drains.

Pet Waste: Bag and dispose of pet waste properly—it can pollute water if it ends up in the storm drain.

Winter Safety: Choose environmentally friendly ice melt to protect pets and the environment during winter.

🚸 Back to School Bus Safety! 🚸

As school buses hit the road again, let's all remember the rules for driving around them.

Remember to SLOW DOWN!

🚌Slow down: Be alert for children who might be crossing the street, especially if they're running late.
🚌Yellow flashing lights: The bus is preparing to stop. Slow down and get ready to stop.
🚌Red flashing lights & stop arms: The bus is loading or unloading children. You must STOP and WAIT until the lights stop flashing and the bus begins moving again.

When do drivers have to stop for school buses with flashing red lights & stop arms?

🛑Two-lane roads: Stop when approaching from either direction.
🛑Roads with three or more lanes, no median or barrier: Stop when approaching from either direction.
🛑Roads with a median or physical barrier: Stop only if you're traveling in the same direction as the bus.
