Literacy Center Programs

All of our programs are designed to provide an exciting and instructional environment where fun and learning go hand in hand.

 After-School Reading and Math Clubs

  • Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday
  • 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m.
  • 50-minute class

Winter Term: November 26, 2018, through February 14, 2019.
Spring Term: March 6, 2019, through April 25, 2019.

Reading Clubs – (Kindergarten through 4th Grade)

Our reading clubs provide small group sequential instruction, which include the following areas:

  • Phonemic Awareness
  • Phonics Skills (Blending/Decoding)
  • Word Families
  • Sight Words

Book ClubGuided Chapter book reading in small groups, with a focus on:

  • Fluency
  • Comprehension
  • Social Skills

Math Clubs – (1st Grade through 4th Grade)

Our math clubs provide small group sequential instruction, which include the following areas:

  • Addition/Subtraction
  • Multiplication/Division
  • Fractions
  • Telling Time
  • Money
  • Geometry

After-school math homework assistance is available for junior high and high school students on a walk-in, first come/first served basis.

Morning ABC Program

(Students must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2018)

  • Small Groups of children learning beginning reading skills
  • Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday
  • 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (2 hours)
  • Two Sessions offered (Children may attend Morning ABC Program once)
    • Fall Session: Aug. 27- Dec. 18, 2018
    • Spring Session: January 14 – May 16
