Fire Prevention Week is October 4 through October 10
Keep your family safe with a plan on how to get out in the event of a fire.
Did you know that roughly half of home fire deaths result from fires reported between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., when most people are asleep?
Having a plan on how to get out during the day and night is crucial. With a solid plan and having practiced it both day and night with your family, the chances of surviving a fire are increased.
When it comes to having an escape plan, it’s about “practice, practice, practice”.
The key message of this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign is “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!”. This message reinforces why everyone needs to have an escape plan.
NFPA is excited to share this important information so everyone better understands the life-saving value of home escape plans.
