Be Bold. Be Unified. Be Lehi.

Posted Category: Mayor's Posts, Newsroom.

By the time you’re reading this, the election outcome will be determined, and we’ll know who will be serving as Mayor as well as who will be filling the 2 city council seats for the next 4 years. If I’m not elected this will be the final newsletter that I have the opportunity to write. Not knowing what the outcome is as I’m writing this, I’m going to use it as a concession speech of sorts, to those taking the oath of office in January.

I recently read the book “Love Your Enemies” by Arthur C. Brooks where he talks about divisive politics and the culture of contempt. He describes the culture of contempt as seeing people who disagree with us not merely as incorrect, but as worthless and defective. We’ve seen this at the national level for quite some time now.

NOT MY PRESIDENT – a phrase we heard back in 2016 when President Trump was elected and was simply reused in 2020 for President Biden.

In Lehi I believe we are better than that!!

Having served on the city council for 2 terms has been a privilege and one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’m grateful for this community that our family has called home for the past 15 years and for the impact you’ve had on our lives. I’m grateful to all of the residents that have engaged with the candidates and exercised your right to vote…you are what makes our community a great place to live! I’m grateful to the city staff that have always been accessible to me when I have had questions along the way. Your investment and commitment to Lehi have not gone unnoticed by me over the past 8 years!

For the newly elected Mayor and/or City Council members know that you have my FULL support. Your four-year term will go by fast but I trust the voters of Lehi that you’re going to dig in and make a positive difference for our community. If you have any questions as you prepare to take office, I’d be happy to sit down and talk with you to. As you make the tough decisions over the next four years for Lehi, that inevitably won’t make everyone happy, know that I’ll assume the best of intentions from you.

You ARE my Mayor & You ARE My Council Members

BE BOLD
BE UNIFIED
BE LEHI
