Volunteers
Literacy Center volunteers come twice a week for one hour, either Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday. Volunteer times during the school year are at 4 pm and 5 pm, and in the summer 9 am, 10 am, 11 am and 12 noon. Each volunteer is placed with a teacher and assists in helping students in either reading or math. Youth (7th grade) through adults are always welcome to volunteer.
Fall 2026 After-School Session (September 9 - November 12, 2026)
- Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday
- 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. Main Center/3 p.m. or 4 p.m. Satellite Center (45 minutes)
** Volunteer background checks are good for one calendar year. If you volunteered in the Fall of 2025 or more recently and completed the background check process, DO NOT fill out a new registration form, call or email the Literacy Center to let us know the days and times you would like to volunteer. Volunteers must be in 7th grade or higher. Openings are limited so please submit 3 options for volunteer times.

- ABC Program: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (2 hours)
- After-School Program: 4 p.m., 5 p.m. Main Center / 3 p.m., 4 p.m. Satellite Center (45 minutes)

Courtney Perry earned the Gold Service Award for 2025 Kaylee Roberts earned the Bronze Service Award for 2025
Natalie Mills and Libby Hadley earned the Bronze Service Award for 2025.
Kendal Hadley and Sreenidhi Veerappan earned the Bronze Service Award for 2025.
Rowan Pheysey, Audrey Gulledge and Jane Hollingshead earned the Bronze Service Award for 2025.
The Literacy Center Volunteer Service Award is earned by those that have reached the rank of Gold, Silver & Bronze based on the number of service hours they have acquired in the 2025 calendar year. The Literacy Center benefits from the generosity of those that donate their time by volunteering at the Center.
