Lehi City partners with the non-profit organization Just for Kids to provide adaptive sports through the Lehi City Recreation Programs. Just for Kids is conscientious of the safety of those they serve.
Adaptive programs are designed and modified exclusively for patrons with disabilities with any age. The Legacy Center offers adaptive Zumba, volleyball, swimming, bowling, and basketball.
ADAPTIVE BASKETBALL
This program is modified to meet the needs of athletes with disabilities. They will have the opportunity to practice their basketball skills and participate in an area and state tournament. The class provides an opportunity to develop not only athletic skills to play the game of basketball but also teaches fair play and
healthy competition.
ADAPTIVE BOWLING
This program is designed and modified for participants that are intellectually or physical challenged. The class provides an opportunity to develop skills to bowl and fair play and healthy competition. Athletes will look forward to the friendship and fun that is fostered in this class. Athletes must be 8 years of age to participate in
this class.
ADAPTIVE SWIM TEAM
Our Adaptive Swim Team provides a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals of all abilities to build confidence, develop swimming skills, and enjoy the water. With personalized coaching and a focus on fun, teamwork, and achievement, participants can be part of a positive team experience. Participants must be able to swim across the 15 yard lap pool with limited assistance.
ADAPTIVE VOLLEYBALL
This program is designed and modified for participants that are intellectually or physical challenged. They will have the opportunity to learn how to play and learn skills to participate in one area tournament. The class provides an opportunity to develop not only athletic skills to play the game of volleyball but also teaches fair play and healthy competition.
