Happy New Year, Lehi City! The start of a new year is exciting. The Condies are now in their 12th year living in Lehi. As we closed out 2018 I took time to reflect on the changes that have occurred in our great city these past 12 years. So much has been done. A second high school was built; 2100 North was built between Redwood Road and I-15; Pioneer Crossing was built from American Fork, thru Lehi, to Redwood Road in Saratoga Springs; 2300 West was connected between 300 North and 900 North; a new bridge was built over I-15 that connects Triumph Blvd and 2300 West; the I-15 Tech Corridor project has begun; several new businesses have come to Lehi; our population has grown by 20k+ residents; Lehi’s third fire station was constructed; a new power building was built that includes internal power generation; and the growth continues.
As I look to 2019, I see the construction ramping up on Dry Creek Reservoir, we will be one year closer to the I-15 Tech Corridor project being completed, construction beginning on a new police station, new schools opening, new businesses coming, more homes being built, and road construction projects ending and starting.
Growth is exciting and challenging at the same time. During this coming year we as a city will have the opportunity to comment the City’s General Plan. This plan includes four main elements: Land Use, Parks and Open Space, Moderate Income Housing, and Transportation. www.lehi-ut.gov/planning/general-plan/. The City appreciates public input, which will be especially important as we update the General Plan.
I look forward to continue serving you throughout this coming year.
