Beginning in October the Lehi City Water Department will be upgrading the irrigation line along Center Street. This particular water main plays a key role in meeting system demands, so the replacement must be done in the fall and winter months.
This project will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, the line will be upgraded from 2600 North to 2700 North, including in the intersection at Center and 2600 North. This intersection will be closed to traffic. In the second phase, the line will be upgraded from 2700 North to 3200 North.
PHASE ONE: October 19-23, 2017
PHASE TWO: Late Winter/Early Spring
Phase One has been scheduled during UEA weekend to limit the impact on student traffic. Phase two will shift traffic to the east of Center Street while work is performed on the west side.
Why wasn’t this work performed before school started?
Due to irrigation demands, this line couldn’t be taken out of service during summer months. In addition, fire protection for the northern zone relies on this line being active. We couldn’t maintain irrigation needs as well as fire protection during the summer while taking this line out of service.
