The Lehi Youth Council is dedicated to providing leadership training and service opportunities for interested Lehi youth in grades 9-12. With a Youth Mayor, Youth Council Members, and Youth Department Heads, the members learn how our local government works and how to make positive changes in the community. The Youth Council helps the elected officials understand the needs of children and youth in the community and works with groups throughout the city to provide service and leadership opportunities. And on top of all this, we have fun!
The members of the Youth Council attend a legislative session at the Utah State Capitol each January where they have the opportunity to meet our legislators and hear guest speakers such as Dale Murphy and Rudy Guiliani. There is an annual convention of Youth Councils held each March at Utah State University in Logan where councils learn from and compete against each other. This 3-day event is full of training sessions, activity sessions, and even a dance. We will have a Lehi Youth Council retreat in early summer. The youth members will choose the activities and opportunities that they will participate in throughout the year.
Although we are no longer accepting applications for the 2010-2011 Youth Council, we are accepting applications to be maintained on file in case we have an opening.
